Begin and finish your journey in Rome! With the Explorer tour called The Italian Dream, you’ll have an 8-day trip that takes you through Rome, Italy, and 7 other places in Italy. The Italian Dream comes with a hotel stay, a knowledgeable guide, meals, transportation, and additional perks.

Day 1 Rome

Day 1 Rome + The Italian Dream

When you arrive at the Rome airport, our local team will welcome you after you pass through customs. They’ll then take you to your hotel in Rome. The rest of your day is yours to relax or begin exploring the Eternal City.

Day 2 Rome – Assisi – Siena – Florence

Enjoy breakfast at your hotel. Around 7:30 am, we’ll depart from the Italian hotel for a short drive to Assisi, a historic town surrounded by medieval walls. Take your time exploring and visit the Basilica of St. Francis to see amazing artworks by Giotto and Cimabue. You’ll have lunch at your own pace.

 Later in the afternoon, we’ll head to Siena, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for the Palio horse race. You’ll have some free time to explore the medieval city center before continuing to Florence, where you’ll check into your hotel for dinner and a well-deserved rest. (Meals: Breakfast – Dinner)

Day 3 Florence

After having breakfast at the hotel, you’ll meet your local guide to start an interesting tour of Florence, known as “The Cradle of the Renaissance.” This city reached its artistic peak with the help of Michelangelo. Originating from Etruscan-Roman roots, Florence thrived in the Middle Ages as a free “commune” and was further enriched during the Renaissance. You’ll find countless monuments, churches, and buildings, including the famous Duomo, officially named Santa Maria del Fiore, to explore. While there, you’ll be amazed by the dome, bell tower, and baptistery, all with remarkable features, according to Michelangelo. In the heart of the city, you’ll also see Piazza Della Signoria, Palazzo Vecchio, and the Basilica of Santa Croce.

After lunch at a Tuscan restaurant, you can explore Florence’s streets or opt for a trip to Pisa (additional cost). Pisa is one of Italy’s four main historical maritime republics. You’ll tour the Piazza dei Miracoli with its Duomo, the famous Leaning Tower of Pisa, and the Baptistery. Dinner will be at your leisure, and you’ll spend the night in Florence. Day 4 Florence – Bologna – Padua – Venice

Enjoy breakfast at the hotel. Next, we’ll go to Bologna, known for its elegant city center with long porticoes stretching nearly 40 kilometers. Starting from Piazza Malpighi, we’ll walk to Piazza del Nettuno and Piazza Maggiore in the heart of the city. You’ll also see Palazzo Re Enzo, built in the 13th century as an extension to Palazzo Podestà, and the Basilica of San Petronio, one of the largest in the world. Bologna is famous for its delicious food, so don’t miss the chance to enjoy a tasty lunch at your own pace.

In the afternoon, we’ll continue to Padua, where you’ll visit the Basilica di Sant’Antonio da Padua, one of the most visited churches in the Catholic world. Later, we’ll arrive in Venice, also known as “The City of Love,” renowned as one of the most romantic and beautiful cities on Earth! Dinner will be at your leisure, and you’ll spend the night at your hotel in Venice. (Meal: Breakfast)

Day 5 Venice

After breakfast at the hotel, we’ll take you to Piazza San Marco, where you’ll visit some of the most famous spots in beautiful Venice. You’ll view the Palazzo dei Dogi, symbolizing Venice’s rich history, and the iconic Rialto Bridge, busiest of four bridges spanning the Grand Canal.

After the walking tour, you’ll get to try some delicious ‘Cicchetti’, which are Venetian-style tapas, along with a glass of spritz or prosecco. The rest of the day is yours to explore Venice’s canals and palaces (return transfer to the hotel not included). Dinner will be at your leisure, and you’ll spend the night in Venice. (Meals: Breakfast – Light lunch)

Day 6 Venice – Montepulciano (Tuscany wine region) – Rome

Enjoy breakfast at the hotel before we head to Tuscany, a stunning region known for its beautiful landscapes, historic churches and castles, and famous wines. We’ll make our way to val di Chiana, stopping in Montepulciano, a medieval town with a fascinating history. Montepulciano is famous for its “Vino Nobile” wine, which you can buy in local wine shops, and it also hosts an annual jazz and wine festival every July.

 Lunch will be included at a typical restaurant. After lunch, you’ll have some free time to relax before we head back to Rome. Dinner will be at your leisure, and you’ll spend the night in Rome. (Meals: Breakfast – Lunch)

Day 7 Rome

After breakfast at the hotel, around 8:00 am, we’ll head out for a morning tour of the Vatican Museums, including the Sistine Chapel, with a “Skip the Line” ticket. Your local guide will show you around these famous museums, home to one of the world’s most important art collections. Experience the Galleries of Tapestries, Geographical Maps, Raphael’s Rooms, the 16th-century Sistine Chapel, and conclude your tour at St. Peter’s Square.

Afternoon free. Walk or taxi to visit Ancient Rome’s key site: The Roman Forum, following lunch (not included). Step into history at the iconic Arch of Constantine, then explore the historic Roman Forum, once the bustling heart of Ancient Rome.

Guide transports you to ancient Rome, imagining life 2,000 years ago, offering insight into the Roman citizen’s daily life. Explore Palatine Hill, Rome’s legendary birthplace, and discover the captivating ruins of Imperial palaces. Conclude your visit with outside views of the Colosseum, where Ancient Romans watched gladiatorial shows and animal hunts. The evening is yours to enjoy at leisure. You’ll spend the night in Rome. After breakfast, our local representatives will meet you in the hotel lobby and take you to the airport for your flight home, or you can make your own travel arrangements from there. (Meal: Breakfast)
